Liverpool have asked about Schalke's highly rated centre back Ozan Kabak.
The Bundesliga side are struggling financially and face the prospect of selling some of their top young players.
Kabak is a 20-year old Turkey international who has attracted attention from Manchester City, Juventus and Borussia Dortmund in recent seasons.
He is combative, good on the ball and tipped for a bright future.
