World Cup winner Julian Alvarez has doubled his wages by inking a long-term contract extension with Manchester City, taking his deal through until 2028.
The 23-year-old forward joined City from Argentine side River Plate last summer after originally being bought in the 2022 January transfer window.
In his debut season for City, Alvarez has scored 10 times in 33 appearances, and found the back of the net four times doing Argentina's successful World Cup campaign in Qatar in December.
But his playing time for his club has been impacted by the arrival of striker Erling Haaland, with the goal-scoring duo not always favoured in a strike partnership by manager Pep Guardiola.
