John Stones was not at fault for Manchester City's defensive disaster... Claudio Bravo was! Graeme Souness gives his backing to England man

A disastrous defensive error saw Manchester City go 1-0 down against Southampton on Sunday, but who was to blame for Nathan Redmond's opening goal?

Sky Sports stalwart Graeme Souness believes responsibility for the first-half strike lies with much-maligned City keeper Claudio Bravo, while Thierry Henry and Jamie Carragher were adamant John Stones was at fault.

Midway through a lacklustre first-half performance at the Etihad, Bravo threw the ball to Kevin De Bruyne, under pressure 25 yards from goal. Passes were exchanged between Fernandinho and Ilkay Gundogan, before the ball found its way to John Stones.

The obvious error occurred when the centre back's pass found Redmond, who finished with relative ease, but Souness believes Bravo should take the blame.
