Former Chelsea midfielder Joe Cole claims that the Blues decided against signing Sergio Aguero because of 'his shape'.

Speaking ahead of Aguero making his final appearance in a City shirt in Saturday's Champions League final against Chelsea, Cole revealed how his former club turned down the chance to sign the Argentine from Atletico Madrid in 2009.

Cole told BT Sport: 'Chelsea were after him. They looked at this shape. I think maybe the shape of him they passed on him at the time, which was obviously a mistake.'

Manchester City signed Aguero for £35million two years later and he went on to become the club's all-time goalscorer.
