Jerome Boateng says his move from Manchester City to Bayern Munich worked out better than he could have hoped for - and is now determined to repay the Bavarians for helping develop him into one of the world's top central defenders.
Boateng joined Munich in 2011 after just one underwhelming season with City, where he was largely consigned to an unfavoured role at right-back.
However, after moving back to central defence at the Allianz Arena, the 28-year-old has flourished - helping to guide the club to four consecutive Bundesliga titles as well as the Champions League crown in 2013.
