Raheem Sterling has been defended over his new tattoo of a gun, which was captured in pictures taken during England’s pre-World Cup training.
Sterling, the Manchester City forward, has been the subject of criticism from Lucy Cope, the founder of Mothers Against Guns, who called for the tattoo to be removed or covered up.
“This tattoo is disgusting,” Cope told The Sun. “Raheem should hang his head in shame. It's totally unacceptable.
"We demand he has the tattoo lasered off or covered up with a different tattoo.
"If he refuses he should be dropped from the England team.
