Ilkay Gundogan has given his support to Manchester City team-mate Raheem Sterling – and opened up over his racism ordeal following Germany's calamitous World Cup exit.
Sterling was allegedly racially abused by a Chelsea supporter during City's 2-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
And Gundogan revealed that he was targeted just months ago.
The 28–year-old was part of a fancied Germany squad which suffered a humiliating group stage exit in Russia, sparking a backlash against team-mate Mesut Ozil which prompted the Arsenal playmaker to retire from international football.
