Ilkay Gundogan was putting the finishing touches on a move to Barcelona and bringing a glittering Manchester City career to an end on Wednesday night.
Gundogan, 32, is set to sign a two-year deal at the Nou Camp once his City contract expires. City have fought to keep their captain but he has opted to leave after securing an historic Treble.
It means the German's last act during his seven-year stay playing under Pep Guardiola was to lift the Champions League trophy in Istanbul earlier this month.
The news came on the same day that the Premier League champions agreed a fee with Chelsea for Mateo Kovacic.
