Barcelona are facing a race against time to register summer signing Ilkay Gundogan, with reports that he could leave the club if they are unable to do so by Sunday.
The German midfielder joined Barcelona on a free this summer, after his seven-year stint at Manchester City came to an end after he captained them to a Treble success last season.
Xavi will hope his headline signing can play a part when Barcelona kick off the defence of their LaLiga title on Sunday against Getafe.
However, Forbes have reported that Gundogan's time at the Nou Camp could come to an end before it has really begun.
