Being the coach/manager of any professional football club, and being any good at it takes a diverse array of talent as well as having an in-depth knowledge of the game. Of course, tactics play an integral part of matchday planning as much as motivating the players. I mean there are some who need a kick up the backside every now and then. On the flipside, there are others who need an arm around the shoulder, even a cuddle when individual performances drop.
The boss, similar to anyone within their respective profession also needs to enforce discipline. Not the way a Sergeant Major would do, albeit that might work for some, but in a way where they gain respect.
