Pep Guardiola has admitted that his gesture to the crowd after Erling Haaland had netted his second goal against Copenhagen was born out of surprise.
The Manchester City manager turned to the crowd after his striker had snapped up a rebound from goalkeeper Kamil Grabara to take his tally for his debut season in England to 19 in 12 games.
He gestured over his shoulder with his thumb as the goal set the Blues on their way to a thumping 5-0 win over the Danish champions and put City on the brink of qualification for the group stage with three games gone.
