Sevilla president Pepe Castro has paid tribute to the club's 37-year-old captain Jesus Navas who will lift the trophy in Budapest tonight if Jose Mourinho’s Roma can be overcome.
The former Manchester City winger is now in his 16th season at Sevilla after returning to the club from the Etihad in 2017.
The two-club man debuted for Sevilla in 2003 and has played for them for two-decades save for a four-year spell under Pep Guardiola in Manchester.
It was Guardiola who converted winger Navas to full-back and despite early skepticism he has flourished in the position and shows no sign of slowing down ahead of his 38th birthday in November.
