Gary Neville said that Mateo Kovacic was 'very lucky' to avoid a red card for his challenge on Martin Odegaard.
Arsenal's clash with Manchester City at the Emirates saw the Croatian midfielder slide in on captain Odegaard's ankle, sparking outrage from fans on social media who deemed the tackle to be a red card offence.
Following a VAR review, the midfielder was shown a yellow card by referee Michael Oliver after the challenge.
The VAR check was completed under the review of John Brooks, though much to the astonishment of fans, they opted not to intervene, allowing Kovacic to remain on the pitch with a yellow card.
