Espanyol have agreed to terminate the contract of former Manchester City defender Martin Demichelis.
The 36-year-old has featured just twice in LaLiga so far this season after moving to Spain on a free transfer, following the expiration of his contract at the Etihad stadium.
Demichelis, a World Cup runner-up with Argentina in 2014, will now be allowed to look for a new club in the January window.
A statement on Espanyol's official website read: "On Tuesday, Martin Demichelis and RCD Espanyol reached an agreement to split the Argentine defender's contract from the club.
