Gerry Gow, the Bristol City midfield hard man of the 1970s who went on to play for Manchester City in the 1980 FA Cup Final, has died aged 64 after a short battle with cancer.
The Glaswegian was arguably one of the best players never to be capped by Scotland.
He was a club legend at Ashton Gate where he made 445 appearances and skippered the side managed by Alan Dicks which reached the old First Division.
He returned to the West Country to end his career as player-manager then manager of Yeovil until 1987.
