Former Manchester City star Jo Alves has been arrested in Sao Paulo after allegedly failing to pay child support, according to reports in Brazil.
The 37-year-old moved to the Premier League side over 14 years ago, then tempted away from CSKA Moscow to become the club record signing in a £19million deal in 2008.
But Alves failed to settle at the Etihad, instead featuring during two loan stints at Everton between 2009 and 2011, before a third at Turkish Super Lig side Galatasaray.
Alves moved back to his home country with a move to Internacional in 2011, but 13 years later, the 37-year-old is toiling at Serie B side Amazonas, having joined the freshly promoted club at the start of the season.
