Manchester City midfielder David Silva has revealed that he idolised Michael Laudrup while he was growing up and was also a fan of Juan Carlos Valeron.
The Spanish playmaker is considered one of the best midfielders in world football and it comes as no surprise considering he modelled his game on the former Danish international.
Laudrup holds an impressive CV, having played for European giants such as Barcelona, Real Madrid, Juventus and Lazio during his football career.
When asked who Silva's boyhood hero was when he grew up on City's official website, the 31-year-old said: 'Michael Laudrup.
