KAZAN, Russia -- Manchester City expect Claudio Bravo to stay at the club and battle with summer signing Ederson for the goalkeeper's jersey, despite the Chilean once again being left out of the national team during the Confederations Cup in Russia.
Bravo, Chile's first-choice keeper during their back-to-back Copa America triumphs in 2015 and 2016, was named on the bench for the 1-1 draw against Germany in Kazan on Thursday -- four days after being overlooked in favour of 36-year-old Universidad de Chile No. 1 Johnny Herrera in the Group B opener against Cameroon in Moscow.
Despite enduring a difficult first season at City following his arrival from Barcelona last August, Bravo had been able to hold onto his international position ahead of the Confederations Cup.
