Cash-strapped Barcelona 'eye moves for Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner' as the Chelsea duo emerge as 'alternatives to Raheem Sterling' as dire finances leave the Catalans scouring for loan deals in January

Barcelona are eyeing Chelsea duo Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner as alternatives to Raheem Sterling, according to reports.

Cash-strapped Barcelona's financial situation has left the club scouring the market for alternatives to mega-money deals this season.

With the Catalans embroiled in financial ruin, they will have to free up some money if they intend to make any signings in the January transfer window and instead they could look for players to arrive on loan first.

Ziyech has started just two league games this term and made a total of eleven appearances across all competitions
Werner has been sidelined with injury recently and has made just ten appearances this term

Director of football Mateu Alemany confirmed last week that Barcelona will be unable to register any new signings when the transfer window opens in the new year.
