Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nehayan is on the brink of completing his takeover of Derby, the Championship club confirmed on Friday.
Sheikh Khaled, a senior member of the Abu Dhabi Royal Family and a cousin of Manchester City owner Sheikh Mansour, is ready to take control of the club – who are captained by England's record goalscorer Wayne Rooney – from owner Mel Morris after the EFL gave the green light to the deal.
Sportsmail revealed on Thursday that the governing body had given their blessing to the agreement.
