Benjamin Mendy caused uproar on Twitter on Wednesday night as he criticised Anfield's atmosphere just hours after Manchester City were thrashed at Liverpool.
Mohamed Salah, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Sadio Mane scored the three goals to secure the advantage heading into the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final.
It was a first visit to Anfield for Mendy, who has spent much of his debut season at City recovering from a cruciate ligament injury suffered in September, but the Frenchman appeared less than impressed by the stadium's atmosphere.
'Now I see Anfield for my first time but the Velodrome are the best atmosphere,' Mendy wrote on Twitter, tagging former club Marseille's official account.
