Arsenal want Gabriel Jesus to miss Brazil’s World Cup qualifiers versus Colombia and Argentina later this month.

The Gunners striker has missed Arsenal’s last three games due to a minor hamstring injury which saw limp out of their Champions League win at Sevilla last month.

Jesus had hoped to be available for the game at Newcastle but his return has been delayed.

The former Manchester City forward is now making pleasing progress but playing against Sevilla on Wednesday of Burnley at the weekend would open the door to Jesus being selected by Brazil - who are already without Neymar.
