Arsenal face the prospect of being left with a skeleton coaching staff for their New Year's Day clash with Manchester City, after more key members of Mikel Arteta's backroom team tested positive for Covid.

On Wednesday, Arsenal announced that boss Arteta would miss their game against City after the Spaniard tested positive for a second time, having first contracted the virus in March 2020.

And The Telegraph reports that other members of staff in Arteta's backroom coaching set up will miss the game at the Emirates with the virus spreading at the club.
