Arsenal agree £14m permanent deal for Pablo Mari despite defender being ruled out until NOVEMBER with an ankle ligament injury

Arsenal have agreed a permanent deal with Flamengo for defender Pablo Mari who is expected to be out for around four months with ankle ligament damage.

The 26-year-old joined Arsenal on loan in January and the final details of his permanent transfer were agreed this week for around £14million.

Mari injured his left ankle in Arsenal's return to Premier League action at Manchester City on Wednesday evening and, while the club's medical team are still assessing the best course of action, they expect the Spaniard to be out until November.
