The LSU Tigers have landed a commitment from four-star OT Austin Deculus. 247Sports broke the news of Deculus' commitment.
"The main reason I committed to LSU is because of that comfort feeling of home," Deculus told 247Sports. "The environment at LSU is one that I wanted to be surrounded with. “Those types of players at LSU, and the style of smash-mouth football, it fits me perfectly. And just having been to games and feeling Death Valley in full effect, there is nothing like that energy when game time hits."
Deculus is a four-star recruit out of Texas, and had offers from nearly every major program. The 6-foot-6, 323-pound is the No. 45 overall player in the nation. He's the No. 10 OT and the No. 5 player from Texas.
Getting an offer from Deculus was a "dream" for Deculus. It was only a matter of time before Deculus committed to LSU.
"Honestly, when [LSU] offered me a scholarship about a year ago, I was like a kid in a candy store," Deculus said. "My dream came true. So whenever I went through the whole recruiting process, LSU was there in the mix. And they were always the one team that would rise to the top."
