The deal, first reported by the Baton Rouge Advocate, is a bit of a head-scratcher for several reasons, primarily because of how long it took to get a deal done. Consider that LSU’s new defensive coordinator, Dave Aranda, was hired January 1 and had a new deal written, signed and ready for approval at the Board of Supervisors’ January 29 meeting. Les Miles’ go-to line since January had been the sides were “working on” a new deal. Common sense would suggest if they wanted a deal done sooner, it could have happened.
With Cameron’s future in limbo, rumors swirled.
