BATON ROUGE – LSU linebacker Devin White has been named the Southeastern Conference Defensive Player of the Week for his performance against Texas A&M, the league office announced on Monday.
It’s the second SEC Defensive Player of the Week honor for White this year and the sixth of his career. White earned his other player of the week honor this year following LSU’s win over Georgia.
In LSU’s seven overtime contest against the Aggies, White registered a career-best 17 tackles to go along with four tackles for loss. He added a sack for a 12-yard loss and forced a fumble that resulted in a 58-yard return for a touchdown by Michael Divinity early in the fourth quarter that tied the contest at 24-24.
