The pressure was on. Not on the football field but in the classroom. "Coach O said, 'You have to pass,'" recalled Frank Herron, a fifth-year senior defensive end ready for his final season at LSU.
Herron needed a passing mark in a summer geology class to not only keep his spot on the football team but also become the first in his family to earn a college degree.
Come Friday, he will receive his diploma. His focus after then will be largely on football.
"This is it," Herron said.
Herron came to LSU as a five-star-rated defensive tackle prospect out of Memphis, Tenn.
