An axiom to remember about bowl games: Results for programs are often exaggerated.
Look at Oklahoma. The 2014 Sooners were awash in expectation after defeating Alabama in the Allstate Sugar Bowl, and they underwhelmed. Not much was expected from the 2015 Sooners after being wiped out by Clemson in the Russell Athletic Bowl; now the teams will meet again in one of the playoff semifinals.
Bowl results for coaches, however, are mostly not exaggerated. Losses can move them closer to the hot seat, and wins can lead to raises, extensions -- or new jobs.
Here are the coaches who would benefit most from a bowl win in the coming weeks.
