NFL rookies Davon Godchaux and Kendell Beckwith of LSU are proving day-by-day that it doesn't matter what round you're drafted in.
All that counts is your performance.
Godchaux, the 178th overall pick in the draft chosen in the fifth round by the Miami Dolphins, apparently is about to win a starting defensive tackle spot over second-year player Jordan Phillips, according to the Palm Beach Post.
Jermon Bushrod, the Dolphins' veteran offensive guard, told the Post that Godchaux's hands are a load for offensive linemen to handle.
"And he's got some mass," said Bushrod, who at 318 pounds has just a 13-pound advantage against the rookie.
