After a pair of out-of-conference games in Weeks 4 and 5, the LSU football team returned to SEC play with a bang on Saturday at Tiger Stadium.
The Tigers overcame a slow start to cruise to a 45-24 victory over the South Carolina Gamecocks, improving to 5-0 on the season. As a result, LSU climbed one spot to No. 6 in the Associated Press Top 25 and remained at No. 5 in the Amway Coaches Poll.
The SEC was also represented in the polls by Florida (AP: 8, Coaches: 11), Texas A&M (AP: 9, Coaches: 10), Alabama (AP: 10, Coaches: 9) and Ole Miss (AP: 13, Coaches: 12).
