After a less-than-stellar weekend against Southeastern, UNO was looking to bounce back in a big way against nationally-ranked LSU at Alex Box Stadium on Wednesday night.
It took a little longer than expected - maybe a lot longer - but the Privateers eventually left Baton Rouge on Thursday morning with 7-4 victory after a 15-inning, five-hour marathon.
"Hurry up and win, that's what I was telling them," UNO coach Blake Dean said. "We were running out of pitching, running out of options. Same with (LSU) Coach (Paul Mainieri), he was running out of guys to throw over there.
