BATON ROUGE, La. – When asked what he told his team at halftime of Saturday’s game against Southern Miss, LSU coach Ed Orgeron gave a chuckle that elicited laughter from the assembled media.
“It was good,” Orgeron said.
It must have been.
After the Golden Eagles successfully controlled the pace with a game of keep away, the teams went to the break tied 10-10. But it didn’t take long for the Tigers to pull out ahead in the second half in a 45-10 victory Saturday night.
On the third play of the second half, Derrius Guice raced for a 61-yard score.
