Trey Palmer and BJ Ojulari were key factors in LSU’s 52-24 win over South Carolina, and their efforts were rewarded by the Southeastern Conference Monday afternoon.
Palmer was named the conference’s special teams player of the week, while Ojulari was the freshman defensive linemen of the week.
Palmer totaled 118 kick return yards, including a 93-yard score in the third quarter. It was the first kickoff return touchdown by an LSU player inside Tiger Stadium since Eric Martin’s return against Kentucky in 1981. For the year, Palmer has only returned three kicks but is averaging 44.7 yards per return.
