ATLANTA - LSU senior defensive back Tre'Davious White has faithfully watched ESPN's College Football Awards show ever since former Tigers' defensive back Morris Claiborne won the Jim Thorpe Award in 2011 as the nation's best defensive back.
"Since my godbrother Morris Claiborne won it, it was a lifelong dream, I always wanted to be here," said White, nominated for the 2016 Thorpe Award, from the red carpet before tonight's College Football Awards show here in the College Football Hall of Fame. "I wanted to do everything he did. Man, I'm just thankful, I'm a blessed guy.
