An Amtrak train that had just unloaded a batch of LSU fans in Tuscaloosa, Ala., crashed into a truck that was on the tracks a short time later outside of Birmingham Friday (Nov. 6), according to a story posted by WVUE Fox 8.
The driver of the truck was killed, the story said.
The story said the train had earlier been filled with dozens of LSU fans making their way to Alabama for Saturday's huge game between LSU and the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa.
One LSU fan, Amy Duplessis of Prairieville, said around 100 or so LSU fans got off the train in Tuscaloosa, and that another group of LSU folks remained on board for the trip to Birmingham, where they planned to spend the night.
