This is for all intents and purposes LSU’s last stand.
LSU’s chances of making the NCAA Tournament are on life support heading into the weekend. To have even a chance of making the tournament the Tigers must sweep Ole Miss at home and yesterday afternoon they took the first step toward achieving that goal.
LSU beat Ole Miss 5-1 thanks in large part to a gem by Gage Jump. Jump pitched six innings where he only allowed one run, gave up five hits, and struck out eight.
“I would take Gage as much as I would take any pitcher in our league,” Jay Johnson said.
