COLUMBIA, S.C. — The LSU women's basketball team fell to No. 1 South Carolina, 63-48, Thursday night in Columbia, South Carolina. With the loss, LSU is 18-7 overall and 8-5 in the conference. The Gamecocks picked up their 20th straight win and is now 26-1 overall and 13-0 in the SEC. The Tigers still lead the all-time series 22-14.
Junior Jailin Cherry led the team with 13 points and five rebounds, while redshirt junior Faustine Aifuwa scored 12 points. LSU held South Carolina to its lowest point total in SEC play this season.
