EUGENE, Ore. - LSU closed out the NCAA Eugene Regional Final by defeating the No. 14 seed Oregon Ducks at PK Park, 9-8, to clinch a berth into the super regional round against the No. 3 seed Tennessee Volunteers.
The Tigers used a bevy of arms including Friday night starter Landon Marceaux, who came in relief in the top of the 7th inning. He fired 2.1 marvelous innings and was able to get around trouble in the top of the 9th when the Ducks had the tying run at third base. Marceaux picked up his seventh win of the year and collected two strikeouts while giving up one run on four hits.
