BATON ROUGE, La. – LSU athletic director Joe Alleva found his jubilant, Powerade-soaked coach amid the on-field crowd after the Tigers thumped Missouri in Tiger Stadium in Ed Orgeron’s debut as the leading man. The two embraced as Alleva announced, “That’s one!”
It was a big one.
Now, a win over Missouri should be put into proper context. While many were awed by the eye-popping stats the Tigers racked up scoring 79 points against FCS patsy Delaware State, they forgot this team scored only 11 points against West Virginia and lost a home game to Georgia. In a weak SEC East, Missouri will struggle to reach bowl eligibility under first-year coach Barry Odom.
