HOOVER, Ala. -- Todd Peterson -- the pitcher, the rebel, the trouble maker, the liar -- stood on second base and calmly lifted his arms in the air while the world lost its mind around him.
Peterson had no business standing there, celebrating hitting a two-RBI double off the left field wall in the 12th inning for LSU in a 6-4 victory against South Carolina in an SEC Tournament elimination game.
Peterson is a pitcher. And in the world of college baseball, once you're a pitcher, that's usually it. At least that's what he was before Thursday (May 24).
