After a turbulent two-month stretch in which LSU lost three in a row, tailback Leonard Fournette went from Heisman front-runner to Heisman afterthought and coach Les Miles almost lost his job, the roller-coaster ride that was the Tigers’ 2015 season ended smoothly Tuesday night.
The Tigers clearly wanted to make a statement and did with a 56-27 victory over Texas Tech in the Texas Bowl.
Since that strange Saturday night in Tiger Stadium on November 28 when Miles was carried off the field following the win over Texas A&M — he wasn’t sure he would be back as coach until athletic director Joe Alleva announced it a few minutes after that win — numerous questions were raised about LSU.
