The LSU offense (44-16) was completely shut down by Stanford ace NiJaree Canady Saturday night as the Cardinal shutout the Tigers 3-0 to force a winner-take-all game three tonight in Palo Alto.
LSU was limited to just two hits Saturday and five total baserunners. It was the complete opposite of LSU’s offense on Friday night when the Tigers scored 11 runs and had a season-high 16 hits including three home runs.
“Our team was slow starting today, but anytime you’re facing a pitcher like NiJaree Cannady, it is extremely tough, and she had a great game tonight,” Beth Torina said.
