Southern Mississippi might be without its starting quarterback when the Golden Eagles travel to LSU for Saturday night’s game.
Southern Miss coach Jay Hopson said Monday that he isn’t certain whether senior quarterback Nick Mullens will be able to play in Saturday’s game against the Tigers in Baton Rouge because of a right thumb injury.
Hopson said Mullens will be "day-to-day," and his status will depend on how he performs in practice.
The injury occurred during the first half of last week's game against UT-San Antonio, which the Golden Eagles won 55-32. Hopson said Mullens appeared to hit his hand on a helmet, although he remained in the game.
