LSU softball got back on track in SEC competition with a series victory over the Aggies, moving the Tigers record in conference play to 9-8.
The Tigers turned to Carley Hoover to open the series, and the senior came through pitching a complete game shutout, striking out four in the 2-0 victory. Offensively, the Tigers made a mark early, with Amanda Doyle singling in Taylor Antoine, who originally reached on a single in the first. LSU’s second run came when a Shemiah Sanchez sac fly in the fifth scored Emily Griggs who had gotten base two batters earlier.
