BATON ROUGE – LSU's Skylar Mays has been named the 2019-20 Academic All-America® of the Year for Division I men's basketball by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), the organization announced on Monday.
Mays, a kinesiology major with a concentration in human movement/pre-med, is from Baton Rouge, and earns Academic All-America® of the Year honors after being named to the Academic All-America® First Team in 2018-19 and earning second team honors in 2017-18.
He boasts a 3.93 GPA and was named to the All-SEC Second Team last season. He was also named the 2019 SEC Scholar Athlete of the Year.
