BATON ROUGE – It’s been a good few days for LSU junior Skylar Mays.
Last week he was named a COSIDA Academic All-District selection for his 4.01 GPA and basketball play and now will be on the national ballot to earn his second straight Academic All-America honor.
Saturday, he scored 23 points to help lead LSU to an 82-80 win over No. 5 Tennessee in the Maravich Center.
And Tuesday night, with 8:26 to play in the first half against Texas A&M, Baton Rouge’s Mays became the 41st player in LSU basketball history to score over 1,000 career points.
