It’s been 22 years since a running back was taken with the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft. Penn Sate’s Ki-Jana Carter went to the Cincinnati Bengals in 1995 and has since been perhaps a cautionary tale after suffering an ACL tear before he played his first game. But Bengals' fans wouldn’t have felt any better bringing in a quarterback who never developed or a pass rusher such as Barkevious Mingo, who flamed out after the Browns used the No. 6 pick on him in 2013. Even though the Browns have other needs, this opportunity may not come around for another decade or so.
