In a festive ceremony that included former Lakers stars Kobe Bryant and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Shaquille O'Neal's statue was unveiled at the Staples Center on Friday.
Former LSU coach Dale Brown also was in attendance, along with a number of O'Neal's former Lakers teammates.
The huge bronze statue depicts O'Neal hanging from the rim after dunking with both hands and his feet swinging in the air. It's one of the eight statues outside of the Staples Center, which includes Magic Johnson 'sand Jerry West's.
In 2011, LSU unveiled a towering, 900-pound bronze statue of O'Neal in a dunking pose in front of the Tigers' new basketball practice facility.
