Former LSU great Seimone Augustus announced her retirement from the WNBA after an illustrious 15-year professional career.
Augustus was an eight-time All Star, a four-time WNBA champion, and the No. 1 overall pick by the Minnesota Lynx in 2006. She spent 14 seasons with Minnesota, and led the Lynx to titles in 2011—where she was Finals MVP—2013, 2015, and 2017. Augustus also won three Olympic Gold Medals with Team USA in 2008, 2012 and 2016.
Augustus will now join the Los Angeles Sparks coaching staff, where she spent her 15th and final season in the WNBA.
It’s an honor to continue to serve the game that has given me so much,” Augustus said in a statement.
